Robert C. Higgy was the founding director of radio station WOSU, and later, television station WOSU-TV at Ohio State University. Higgy developed the station in 1919, under its original call sign of 8XI and then WEAO. He became a professor in the department of electrical engineering at WOSU in 1937.
